Hidden near a place our Vets. may hang out. This is placed in their honor.
For over 20 years I had a golfing friend we named Hawk. During WWII he was an artillery spotter. He would go behind enemy lines and find targets, then call in coordinates to be shelled where he was. Needless to say, he got 2 friendly fire Purple Hearts. Today he rests at Arlington National Cemetery. He and others like the Navy UTDs could sometimes leave a "Kilroy Was Here." When the location was later, "liberated" those troops would know someone else was there first. RIP Hawk.
