This cache has been archived.

OReviewer: Hello,

As there's been no response to my earlier note, I am forced to archive this listing.

If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the near future, just contact me email, including the GC Code, and assuming it meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.

Thanks,
-OReviewer

Geocache Description:

**The physical cache is not at the listed coordinates**

To complete The Abbreviated 50 States Challenge you must fulfill the requirements listed below and solve the puzzle.  This idea was inspired by GC465ZA NASCAR Challenge Cache.  This had us wondering what else we could find in a geocache ID code.  The terrein rating is for the actual hide.  Expect prickers, thorns, mud, a little water crossing... There is a small prize for the FTF. Something to throw a wrench into your next hide!

Challenge Rules

1.  You must find 50 caches.

2.  This cache cannot count as one of your 50.

3.  There is no time limit on finds.

4.  The caches must include a state abbreviation in the geocache ID code.

5.  You can only use one cache for one abbreviation.  For example, GC3ZCTX How Did I Get Here? has CT for Connecticut and TX for Texas.  You can only use it for one, not both.

6.  There are substitutions needed to complete this challenge.  Not all letters are used in geocache ID codes.   The following numbers and letter can be used as substitutes for their corresponding letters:

0 (zero)=O                 1 (one)=I                   5 (five)=S                  7=L                 U=V

So here are the state abbreviations that need substitutes:

Alabama: AL=A7                   Colorado: CO=C0                   Florida: FL=F7

Hawaii: HI=H1                       Idaho: ID=1D                         Illinois: IL=17

Indiana: IN=1N                     Iowa: IA=1A                           Kansas: KS=K5

Louisiana: LA=7A                  Michigan: MI=M1                  Mississippi: MS=M5

Missouri: MO=M0                 Ohio: OH=0H                         Oklahoma: OK=0K

Oregon: OR=0R                     Rhode Island: RI=R1             South Carolina: SC=5C

South Dakota: SD=5D           Wisconsin: WI=W1

Utah: UT=VT (Yes, that is the same abbreviation as Vermont, so you’ll need two caches with VT)

7.  You must find at least five (5) different cache types excluding events:  Traditional, Multi-Cache, Mystery Cache, EarthCache, Letterbox Hybrid, Virtual Cache, Wherigo Caches, Webcam Caches, and Locationless Caches.

8.  You must fulfill all the requirements and solve the puzzle below before you can go and sign the log in the physical cache.

9.  In your log, booklist, or screenshot please include the geocache ID, the state abbreviation, the cache name, the state name, and the date you found it. Check our bookmark for reference.

10. Any logs found to NOT meet all rules AND the logging requirements will be deleted.YOU CANNOT QUALIFY FOR THIS CACHE THROUGH PROJECT GC AT THIS TIME. NO CHECKER FOR THIS CACHE HAS BEEN CREATED.
