Larry Morgan opened a record shop on Garland Rd in 1963. Larry convinced his partner, Mr. Arnold, to sell professional music gear in addition to pianos. Hence, the formation of Arnold & Morgan Music. It is no secret that Stevie Ray Vaughn shopped there often. His good friend Jimmy Wallace worked there. Larry loves to brag that he has sold gear to Jimi Hendrix, The Beatles, Eric Clapton, Janis Joplin, Bugs Henderson and many, many more.
Larry had moved to St. Louis and ran a shop there for many years. He eventually made it back to Garland. When he found out that his old location was back on the lease market, he jumped at the chance to reopen his store at the same location that he started in 1963. He proudly marked a "heart" on the floor where he met his wife in 1963. Larry Morgan passed away a few years back, around 2014 time. The music store is still there.
