Dski67: This one will be moved to the other side of the park were there are nicer neighbors. It was one of my first caches, Although, the main road is public, a local neighbor is leaving threatening notes on cars parked on the road. Not! NICE!

Geocache Description:

This trail is used more during the winter but has been cleared for a future bike trail.

A big thanks goes out to Red_Diamond for finding a new location near the old location. Geocachers>>> Please to not destory the area. The first location that the cache was placed into was destroyed. Always remember to tread lightly and replace things back as you find them for the next cacher.

The Swedish Immigrant Trail

The Swedish Immigrant Trail has existed in some form for the last 150 years. It started life as a footpath stretching from the St. Croix River to Lake Ki Chi Saga or Big Lake. Transformed into a cartpath and later a road it carried people and supplies to settle a new land. The railroad arrived in 1880 and connected the small towns along the trails length to the state and nation. Highways and the motorcar saw the trains last trip in 1948, only weeks before a man named Moberg visited the area. Today the route exists as a memory to some and a dream to others.

As of December 15, 2014....22 miles of trail has been acquired and funding is in place to perform the initial engineering of the new trail. Work is also being performed on a new trail head in Taylors Falls.
