I was born in Louisiana, where this instrument is pretty popular in local bands. Zydeco festivals were so much fun, with everyone dancing and chowing down on the best Cajun food in the south! I encourage you to take a road trip so far south, where it's common to see an alligator along a highway near a swamp. I wouldn't recommend getting out of your vehicle to take a selfie with these reptiles, as one might enjoy you for his lunch. But be sure and get you some Boiled Crawfish, Boudin, & Gumbo before you leave; there is always someone cooking something good on every corner of the city.
