Geocache Description:

The cache is at the posted coordinates, and can be signed at any time, but you must first meet the requirements below before you can log a find on this challenge.

The difficulty rating is for the challenge, and the terrain rating is for the hide - there is a short but rocky slope you need to go down, and then some rock hopping to get to the cache location.

This is the first challenge I have ever placed, and the eleventh in a series of challenges started by hrc333 to honor some all-time favorite albums. The challenge will be to find caches for each of the tracks on a given album. The rules are as follows:

  • You must find a different cache for each of the tracks of the album.
  • If the song title has multiple words, I will take any words in the title except conjunctions, articles and short prepositions. I may make exceptions to these rules. Words I accept are highlighted in BOLD.
  • The words must appear in the cache title and can't be part of another word. (ie: somebody is not allowed for body.)
  • If you are the CO of a cache with a qualifying word in it, you can use it for this challenge - although the challenge checker won't be able to detect that.
  • You can have found the caches at anytime.

Surfer Rosa is often cited as a favorite of music critics and is frequently included on professional lists of the all-time best rock albums.

Pixies are still one of my favorite bands, and I've been listening to them since Doolittle came out in 1989, but my favorite album by them is Surfer Rosa, which was released the year prior to that. I've listened to Surfer Rosa more than every other Pixies album combined! I was never able to see them perform live in their heyday, but did manage to see them twice since they reunited in 2003. First time was in 2004 at the Greek Theatre in Berkeley, and then again in 2011 at the Civic Auditorium in Santa Cruz.

All of these can be currently found in the Bay Area:

  1. "Bone Machine"
  2. "Break my Body"
  3. "Something Against You"
  4. "Broken Face"
  5. "Gigantic" (I will also accept Large)
  6. "River Euphrates"
  7. "Where is my Mind?"
  8. "Cactus"
  9. "Tony's Theme" (I will also accept Tony)
  10. "Oh my Golly"!
  11. "Vamos" (Tough one! I will also accept Jugar, Play, Playa or Beach)
  12. "I'm Amazed" (I will also accept Amazing/Amazeing)
  13. "Brick is Red"

Album Trivia: In 1999, the song 'Where is my Mind?' was featured prominently during the final scene and ending credits of the film Fight Club.
