This area was settled in 1875 to the present. Before the Spanish settled here, this was a site of a Taos Indian farming area. Apache raids led to the sites abandoment, but was resettled later by the Spanish and still active today. Reference material is from Robert Julyan's book, "The Place Names of New Mexico".
Be careful when parking to get this cache. It is just off State Road 240 and it is a busy road with limited shoulder parking. There is a narrow driveway into the cemetery. Use stealth at this hide.
Spirit caches are a series placed at or near NM cemeteries in hopes of paying respect to the Pioneer Ancestors having "gone" on before us, and, possibly picking up a bit of history of the area.
