Hebron was one of the primary Moravian settlements in the Lebanon Valley in the mid-18th century, and the Hebron Cemetery, dating to 1748, contains the final resting places of individuals on both sides of the French and Indian War. Graves include those of Johannes Spittler, a native of Ermondt, Germany, who was killed in a raid in 1757 while working his fields. Nearby is the grave of Christian Binnen, who was also killed in a raid in 1757, during which his wife was taken into captivity. The graveyard also contains a common grave of two Indian raiders killed in a skirmish two miles east of Hebron in the fall of 1756. A small stone marks this grave near a Civil War cannon. The oldest grave is that of Rev. Johan Herzen, born in Germany in 1698.
