Geocache Description:

Just off-trail at Swanson Park. Note: we assume the 10+ wood roaches that went scurrying when we disturbed a buggy mulching frenzy to place this cache are Wall•e's pet, Hal's, extended family.

Waaaaay cuter than the real thing, although never mentioned on screen in the animated film, Wall•e's pet roach was named "Hal" after the movie director Hal Roach & also as an homage to 2001: A Space Odyssey.

Hal is extremely resilient: although he gets rolled over by Wall•e & shot by Eve, he suffers no harm.

The chirps he makes were made by speeding up raccoon sounds.

Hal eating & sleeping in Kremies references the myth that roaches & Twinkies (what inspired Kremies) are the only things that can survive the apocalypse.

Hal makes a cameo in Ratatouille on the back wall.

To avoid causing damage to the mountain bike trail, please do not attempt when the ground is muddy. Also try to use stealth around muggles & bicyclists. Cache is secured loosely - lift the whole hanger up a bit to retrieve, then tuck out of sight. Please post no hints or photos of the cache or actual hiding spot, but posting photos of the park is fine.
