This cache is part of an "exercise required" series (some hiking and minimal exertion is required to get to this one). It is located in West Branch State Park, on the backside of the dam. Best and alternate parking areas (and the ONLY legal parking) to access this area are listed as additional waypoints off Wayland Road. PLEASE PARK ONLY IN ONE OF THESE TWO AREAS. THERE IS ROAD ACCESS CLOSER TO THIS CACHE, BUT IT IS NOT A LEGAL PARKING AREA AND RESIDENTS DON'T WANT YOU PARKING THERE... THEY WATCH THE AREA CLOSELY. RESPECT THE AREA AND PARK APPROPRIATELY AND ALL WILL BE WELL FOR CACHING FUN! Please don't bother with this one if you don't want to hike in from the designated parking areas... I've tried to make this series worth your walk!
A "sidewalk" of sorts exists in an area you wouldn't expect to find one. I enjoy walking it when I wander around this area. When you walk it, be sure to look down... many of the stones have very interesting patterns and colors. The cache is a 35mm size container, just off the "sidewalk". Please replace exactly as found for others to enjoy.
Staying on trails (wooded trails and mowed meadows) as much as possible is recommended, due to some marshiness in the area. Trails in this area have muddy spots much of the year, so dress your feet accordingly. The main trail begins alongside the West Branch of the Mahoning River, which flows out of West Branch Lake. Night caching is NOT allowed. Cache contains paper log only. BYO pen. CLEAR CONDITION WINTER CACHING IS FINE, BUT SNOW AND ICE WILL IMPAIR THIS ONE.
