A geocache hidden near the historic 15000 Siphon Wooden Trestle Bridge high in the Rubicon Ranges in the Rubicon State Forest.
The 15000 Siphon Wooden Trestle Bridges is one of the gems of the Historic Rubicon Ranges. Built to support the Hydroelectric scheme established in the early 1900's it stands as one of the best examples of early tall trestle bridges in our district. Its distinct name relates to the distance (in feet) from the beginning of the tram-line line at the top of the haulage overlooking the Rubicon Power Station.
A seasonal gate at the start of the track (at the intersection of Royston Road) is closed during the winter months.. When closed, a 12 minute walk along the track will take you to the historic 15000 Siphon wooden trestle bridge.
Always be aware of snakes and spiders in the bush and take care when on or near roads. Logging trucks operate in this area Monday to Saturday. Children should always be supervised near water and let someone know of your travel plans when venturing into the bush.
