Park in the designated area before heading into the forest. This walk is on forest tracks, but due to harvesting operations it can be rough and muddy in places. Whilst walking with Ardow Burn to your right hand side you'll pass some great habitat, despite the tree felling. This rough area will be great for buzzards, kestrels, hen harriers and owls. Look out for both golden and white-tailed eagles overhead too.
Once you've successfully found the cache, a few more steps along the track will give you some great views out over Dervaig and Loch Cuin, plus the islands of Rum, Muck, Eigg and possibly Coll and Tiree too. You can also continue to find another cache.
The forest has been in community hands since 2006 and now employs 3 people. Addiotnally, it offers the chance of community owned woodland crofts too creating many opportunities for islanders.
