Geocache Description:

This is a redux cache.  container holds small objects and a log only.  bring your own pen. the original cache was placed in 2006.

This cache is located in a very unusual highway interchange, the terrain is very walkable. The cache is hidden well, but shouldn't be too hard to find.

Every year millions of shorebound drivers pass through this interchange and probably don't take the time to stop and look at how beautiful it is. It used to be mainly trees and some ugly brush with vines. About a year ago, the state cleared the brush and planted new trees all along the open space. With the trees they planted wild flower gardens, and when in bloom they are quite colorful. The best way to access this cache would be from one of the side streets Dallas or Richmond Ave. Best is to park and walk down Route 35 south to the traffic light, and then cross there. The cache contains a log only. The history of this highway interchange dates back to the 1960's when the state dualized Route 35. Before then Route 35 only utilized Richmond Avenue in both directions. Chronic congestion plagues this part of Route 35 south, so if you go on a friday night you can wave to all the tourists stuck in traffic.
