Geocache Description:

An easy multi where the answers can all be collected in just a few minutes and the cache is a minutes walk away.

"My God", said Thomas Cavendish, "whatever may befall, I’ll ever love dear Trimley and the oaks of Grimston Hall!"

Pirate and explorer Thomas Cavendish lived at Grimston Hall in Trimley St Martin and is Trimley's most famous son.

He lived in the 16th century and was the second Englishman – and third person ever – to circumnavigate the globe.

His first trip and successful circumnavigation made him rich from captured Spanish gold, silk and treasure from the Pacific and the Philippines and he was knighted by Queen Elizabeth I of England after his return.

He later set out for a second raiding and circumnavigation trip but was not as fortunate and died at sea at the age of 31.

He is remembered in the village today on the village sign, by a commemorative plaque on the Hall and also in the name of one of its pubs – The Three Mariners. The Three Mariners were his three ships – the Desire, the Content, and the Hugh Gallant.

The actual cache is not at the published coordinates. You need to find clues from four close by locations to get the full co-ordinates and the cache is located just a short walk away.

The clues can be found on the village sign, on two benches and a telegraph pole nearby and on the wall of the Memorial Hall. Waypoints are listed. You are looking for a small Lock and Lock container with room for small swaps.
