Geocache Description:

This cache is a homage to the original "NLP" geocache (http://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC11320_nlp).  I wish I could take credit for the amazing work behind this cache, but it all belongs to Kohldad.  He archived the cache some time ago and was gracious enough to let me revive it, with a few additions of course.  Keep a lookout for some of the original NLP components which included wood and metal.

The usual, there is nothing at the listed coords.

The tall tale

After a long day of working on the old navy shipyard, I headed to my truck where I found a man bumping into things trying to feel his way around. When I asked if anything was wrong, he started talking up a storm about the good ole days when everyone was willing to help. How when on shore leave from his ship, he could hitch a ride back home quicker than he could have driven as someone was always willing to help a clean cut sailor. Seeing that he seemed okay but needed some help, I offered him a ride home, hoping that a good deed would raise my spirits. On the way, sometimes he would mumble things while I was talking. Hard to talk and listen at the same time so I was only able to catch a few things like “white stick," “five stages," “dots," “tubes," and “can." I did not think much about it at the time except as the mumblings of an old man. That is, not until I started cleaning my truck and found a piece of worn and crumpled paper under the seat. All it had on it was a bunch of numbers that I have not been able to decode. Feeling that it is important, I would like to find the gentleman and return it to him. However, after several weeks of asking around, no one seems to know anything about him. Here is the document, maybe you could help translate the document and return it to the owner.

Good luck and thanks for the help. Once at the coords, all stages are within arms reach of the cleared path and are within 20 feet of the listed coords.  A little bushwhacking is required due to the erosion of the trail. Hopefully, you will take a few minutes and enjoy the views and surroundings. Keep a watchful eye out as my wife spotted a fox while we were placing the cache.

Solution Checksum: To check your solution add up the seven digits. N = 28, W = 45

Direction Notes:
Access to Veterans Terminal is not allowed nor required. Mapping programs will attempt to take you into the terminal on S. Hobson Blvd which is incorrect. Find an alternative route. And remember, even the best mapping program isn't up to date showing all roads.

Recently a checkpoint was added which you must go through. As long as you are headed toward the marina, you will be okay.

Once in the field, no special knowledge is required and the cache should be completed in under 20 minutes.

FTF Prize goes to Bolling and Dingbat Cacher (Co-FTF)
