Geocache Description:

This re-positioned cache still retains its magnificent views across the Alyn Valley towards Llanferres. There is an old lead mine, (safely capped with a brick built structure), nearby and by popping a stone down through one of its vents you can hear it rattle down for some spooky seconds to the very centre of the earth. See if you can work out how deep it is by using the formula of 32' per second.

To some people, the presence of dark tunnels or shafts that delve deep into the earths interior either via a natural portal such as a cave or pothole or a man-made entrance such as a mine shaft or adit level, has filled them with dread and foreboding. Well for me it has always been the opposite as I have found them enticing and welcoming. The camobag covered cache is located on the side of a steep hillside, close to one such old (safely capped) mineshaft.
