Geocache Description:

Me and my friend BRTH16 realized that there are caches at many of the churches in Cleveland County but not one at our own church, Dover Baptist Church. We decided to do something unique and make this one a Letterbox Hybrid which uses a mixture of traditional clues and GPS coordinates.

This cache is located at Dover Baptist Church in Shelby, NC! Have fun searching for this letterbox hybrid and say hello to anyone you might encounter. If anyone questions what your doing feel free to let them know about the cache and just remind them that the youth minister was involved in placing this cache! For your safety and the safety and comfort of the congregation, please do not search for this cache after dark or during Sunday morning services! Also, please note that you may encounter bees while searching for this cash. Please be careful!

Below is a set of clues that you'll need to use to locate the cache. The clues are intended to be just a bit silly and deceptive, so chill out for a few minutes and have some fun. You'll need the directions below to find the cache:

The initial GPS coordinates will take you to the start of your adventure. You can put your fancy, schmancy GPS away for a few minutes. From where you're at, you should be able to reach out and touch a termite city block. Follow the termite city block until it ends. Now you should see a pair of things nearby that have roots but aren't teeth. Do you see them? Good. Walk to the second closest one. From here things get tricky....

From where you're standing you should see be able to see a certain number of vertical white tubes. Just look around a bit. See them now? Good! Count them! Be mindful that one might be a bit shy. Now, from left to right you want to locate the seventh tube. Walk to the base of the seventh tube and you should be near a corner of the building and some bushes.

Nearby is a cornerstone that tells the date the church was founded and the date that the current building was constructed. Find the date the church was founded and walk as many paces West as the missing digits in the parentheses (19??). If you did it right you should be standing next to another path. Take that path north until it starts to curve. Look to your left for something white that's just hanging around. Near this rack should be a certain number of silver crosses keeping it anchored. How many silver crosses do you see? Pull out your good old GPSr and put that same number in the blanks: 35 19.74_, 081 34.3_5.

That should lead you to something that is missing. You'll be standing over the remains of something missing. Can you guess what it is? Find the largest one the closest to you and you'll be right at the treasure you seek! Remember that the stamp inside of the cache is intended to stay in the cache: It is not SWAG! Feel free to stamp our book with your stamp and stamp your book with our stamp! That's how letterboxes work, don't ya know?

Congratulations to NeverSeenGene for being the First to Find!
