Geocache Description:

Camo'd container holds this little pig in her new home at Lake Manawa State Park, Iowa. The cache is a short walk from a picnic area with plenty of parking. There's easy access to or from the park trail system. The Terrain rating is based on seasonal changes with long grass and possible nearby sitting water.

I'd met this little lady a couple of times before; but I was surprised to find her hitch hiking over the South Omaha Veterans Memorial Bridge. She said she was trekking to Lake Manawa State Park to visit her cousins, Mildred and Maynard. I gave her a lift and she told me her whole sad story of threats against her person and multiple Pig-nappings. Red told me that the last place she stayed got lonely over the winter; so she decided to leave before someone could steal her again.

Red had a hard time deciding where she wanted to settle because she was looking for a perfect spot. We lapped the lake a couple of times before she chose a location for her new home. Red thinks she'll be snuggly, but there will be water and wallowing space nearby for part of the year.

Red would like people to visit her at Lake Manawa State Park -- the park is open from 0430-2200. The park has a great trail system for walkers and bikers. Visitors can swim or boat and visit the great playground.
