My friend and I decided it was time to red line our fun meter. Let’s go fishing!
I knew of a pretty good smallmouth stream nearby, and recent rain had it flowing well. I grabbed my best rod in my left hand and a spare pole in my right. Well, I shouldn’t forget to mention the small cooler of beer we packed, along with a snack or two.
We headed on down my uncle’s land on foot until we reached the stream. It was maybe a mile walk, so we talked along the way – work, the kids, travel plans, etc. We reached the stream and started to fish, using mostly worms, but also a few bugs we caught along the way.
In the span of about 30 minutes, we caught our limit and thought “We’re so good we should join a fishing league!"
Anyway, we walked back home and reminisced about the fishing. We figured we’d better go again next week.
