St. Margarets takes it's name from the former St. Margarets's house. It was the country house of Lord Cassilis and later belonged to the Earl of Kilmorey. Their names can be found in local street names, including Kilmorey Gardens and Ailsa Road.
In 1854 the St Margaret's Estate was laid out for building family houses, becoming one of the first garden suburbs. But, the making of modern St.Margarets was the arrival of the railway.
Within the village there are many tree lined roads, yummy resturants and many independant shops.
Parks such as Moormead and Marble Hill are easily accessible and are just a short walk away.
Congratulations to alfieo for FTF
