Several years ago, NurseB33 cared for a patient on the orthopedic unit who was involved in a horrific MVA (Motor Vehicle Accident). Mr. Smith was only twenty years old and sustained six broken bones, underwent five surgeries, and required a total of sixteen sutures and nineteen staples.
These injuries all resulted in a sixtysix-day hospital admission, but miraculously he made a full recovery and his experience inspired him to become a nurse. Today, Mr. Smith is one of the most vibrant, caring, compassionate, and talented nurses I know!
