The Pal-Mar Natural Area is managed as part of a countywide system of natural areas, protected to maintain the diversity of biological communities and species in Palm Beach County. It is open to the public for environmental education, scientific research, and passive recreation activities such as bird watching, nature walks, photography and of course, geocaching.
It is open from dawn to dusk for hikers only; no bikes, motorized vehicles, dogs, or horses allowed. The area is underutilized so you won't likely see people, but you will see many varieties of birds and animals; bobcats, otters, raccoons, gators and pigs frequent the area. There are trails(?) throughout the area but they aren't marked and they are usually WET!! Bring water, snacks and appropriate footwear.
While exploring the area and finding the local geocaches, I decided to share the fun with a couple new ones.
This one is for Groupertoes; he enjoys areas like this. It's a long, wet, muddy walk out to this cache, and when you arrive at GZ you will get wet feet.
Look for the head-level pill bottle and BYOP. And have fun!!
