Name of the Great Walk: Rakiura Track
How long is the walk? 32 km (3 days of walking)
Can you walk the hike all year long? Yes you can walk all year long
What are the features of the walk? Forest, little bit of coast line, mountains water
Where can you stay over on the hike? You can stay over camp sites and huts
What plants and animals will you see along the way? You will be able to see the little penguin, titi, grey warbler. You may also be able to see the Rakiura kiwi during the day - this is different to the brown kiwi that only comes out at night.
How are the plants/animals different to our local walks (Barry Curtis / Point View / etc)? The plants and animals in our local walks are mostly animals you see all the time and in the Rakiura Track you rarely see those kind of plants or animals around Auckland or NZ.
