Geocache Description:

This Event is provided for your enjoyment by a Sourdough Member of: GeocacheAlaska!
GCAK! is working hard to promote Geocaching in Alaska! Please join us today!

Join us in the Atrium at the Anchorage Museum between 10am and 2pm on Saturday April 18th.

Your mission, when you attend, will incorporate two or more of the following tasks:

  • Enjoy a meet and mingle session across six hours of time inside the Museum Atrium space
  • Take advantage of free admission today to access the unique location chosen for this Event
(rain or shine - it's dry inside!)
  • Indulge yourself in the dining opportunities offered within the Atrium
  • Bring the entire family out for a fun time at one of Alaska's signature attractions
(regardless of their interest in geocaching)
  • Stroll the galleries of this fine institution and report back to the event desk with your ideas on how we can propose to place a physical cache inside this facility. Do not disturb, touch or mark anything during this initial brainstorming phase!

The proposed cache must incorporate elements of a letterbox/multicache hide, in that it must take the seeker from a starting point to a final location with stops along the way. The beginning point must be located within the atrium/entrance area, while the end point must be a physical hide (which with museum assistance may take the form of a cache container in plain view, or a location such a drawer in an exhibit which is only revealed when the seeker opens it.)  Stops along the way must engage the seeker in learning about elements of the Museum's broad mission to teach visitors about life in the North.  Your creativity and ingenuity will be put to the test on this mission phase. We are working in conjunction with the Museum's education department towards this goal of a physical cache placement inside the Museum which combines Museum education goals with the chance to log a challenging find. Participants in this development phase will be credited for their contributions on the final cache page.

This is your opportunity to be involved in developing a cache hide which will garner international fame in the geocaching community!
