Geocache Description:

One-room schools were commonplace throughout rural portions of Pipestone County in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

The district was petitioned on June 16, 1880. The schoolhouse was located in Section 20 and was known as the Wehrman School. An auction was held for the school building, 20 x 40, on January 27, 1955. In 2012, it is said that the schoolhouse is east of a grove of trees and the pig nursery. This district dissolved in 1954 and students transported to Jasper.

Information about country schools in Pipestone County can be found at the county’s museum. This is a small container just holding a log, so bring your own writing tool. A TOTT may also be needed.
