Geocache Description:

Traditional Bison placed in a cemetery I was brought to for my first bison find (Bison Spotted by the Peoples). I distinctly remember this find because A-man and I enjoyed the cherries located near the cache and had a great afternoon.

The cemetery was a family burying ground for the Rymal family. The family later donated the land for the cemetery and a Union Church was erected on the property. The church served as a hospital during the cholera epidemic of 1832. Saint Peter church was later built in it's place but it no longer survives either. The cemetery is maintained by the City of Hamilton.

Interesting comment from a nearby homeowner from GordEtob's log: "(The homeowner) told us a bit about the cemetery (the back is a mass grave for the war of 1812, and the church was a field hospital), the houses on the east side (they were built over an old filled in quarry that used to be here when he was a boy). Thank you for posting this, GordEtob. Always nice to hear more information about these places we visit.

Please bring your own pen to sign the log.

Congratulations to mischiefmonster on the FTF!
