A albufeira, com os seus 250 km2 e mais de 1100 kms de margens é o maior lago artificial da Europa. A paisagem é tipicamente alentejana com montes, oliveiras e azinheiras.
(English) The treasure is placed in proximity of the Alqueva where the Lucefecit river merges into the lake. The Alqueva lake is the largest artificial lake in Europe with a reservoir of 250 km2 and a perimeter of more than 1100 kms. The landscape is typically Alentejano with farmhouses, olive groves, and holm oaks.
