The cache is located along the Selma Erwin Nature Study Preserve Trail. The preserve contains a number of rare plant species. The trail is a five mile loop walking and mountain bike trail. It is rated intermediate to advanced for bikers with many very technical areas. Expect roots, rocks, steep inclines and a few wet water crossings if biking or walking entire loop.
From the old Trailhead take the trail to the left. There is a new Trailhead off Laying Farm Road just to the north. The trail is a little longer from the New Trail head. Please keep to the narrow path and watch for bikers. Many rare species of flora can be found throughout the woods. You may observe trees that are over two hundred years old. If you decide to hike or bike further please do not be tempted to cross over and take shortcuts when you see switchbacks. There may be wild azaleas or wildflowers you cannot see at all times of the year. This is a preserve! The cache is in a camoflaged lock-lock placed about ten feet or less from trail in an area with no flora to damage. There is room for small trackables. I hope you enjoy these beautiful woods.
