While the cache itself is not difficult to find, the trek to it is approximately 15 km round trip depending on where you come at it from. I needed a place remote enough to allow cachers time and opportunity to spend with the cache and an area scenic enough that cachers will enjoy the view and rest before turning back around. I think this is just that place.
While the journey to get here may have been a long one, we hope the smiley was worth it! Cache rating is based on length of trail and the fact that the trail is mostly packed dirt and some gravel but easily managed by foot or bicycle.
Please come prepared with sunscreen, plenty of water and good swag! Cache container is an ammo can of sorts and at time of placement held:
mosquito head net, glow sticks, mosquito pants, tick remover, first aid kit, tire repair kit, pop up hamper, brass match box, plastic match box, bubble sword, kite, rake, camo cooler, walking stick, umbrella, volleyball, camo pencils, garden stake, bubble blower, snake bite kit, fire starters, water bottle, jumbo laundry bag, 5 in 1 survival kit, emergency blanket
Please take pictures and add them to the gallery, we spotted two beautiful ships passing by when we placed the cache!
**** Please note instructions for opening cache lid ***
First twist off plug on top of lid. Pull back spring lever, which will loosen metal band. Please do not allow children to loosen lever as it is coiled tightly to keep container air/water tight. Remove metal band and open lid. When replacing lid be sure arrows on metal band and ammo can align before tightening lever and be sure to replace plastic plug.
