About the film:
In FIELD OF DREAMS, made in1989,an Iowa farmer by the name of Ray Kinsella (Kevin Costner) hears a voice in his corn field telling him, "If you build it, he will come." He interprets this message as an instruction to build a baseball field in his corn field on his farm, which he does, much to the disbelief of everyone in town. But it isn't long before Ray and his family witness the appearance of the ghosts of Shoeless Joe Jackson and the other seven Chicago White Sox players banned from the game for throwing the 1919 World Series. When the voices continue with more cryptic messages, Ray seeks out a radical and reclusive author(played wonderfully by James Earl Jones) to help him understand the meaning of the messages and the purpose for his field. One of our all-time favorite films. Great use of Ray Liotta as "Shoeless Joe" and Amy Madigan as Ray's wife. Ray's catch with his dad will bring a tear to your eye. A fun side note: we actually got to visit and find a cache one summer on the actual movie location for this film, which is still as it was in a corn field in Iowa.
About the cache:
Fuz and I heard this voice saying: "if you put it out they will come". We love this park and couldn't believe that there was still enough room for some more. Located in a place with a view from behind one (out of the four) ballfields. I guess they were thinking "if we build them-they will play!" .
