Geocache Description:

From #6 walk down the road turning right onto Vicarage lane. The cache is on a footpath that goes between houses. Please try to be discreet if caching in a big group. given the area there may not be many walkers who pass this way. I would suggest moving into the field beyond the gate if in a big group. I have always enjoyed visiting and driving through this part of Kent. So this small loop of caches is set up to try and take in the beauty of the surrounding countryside. The distance between some of the cache is deliberate so that you have time to take your eyes off the GPS for a bit and look around you and enjoy the actual walk. You will be passing through farmers fields which have livestock in them, please observe the rules about keeping dogs on leads. All of the caches are placed close to the footpaths. I hope you enjoy the walk and the caches. If going onto number #8 then continue straight along the path across the field in front keeping to the left. A little bit of information about Petham. THE PARISH OF PETHAM lies in a healthy, though wild and romantic country of steep hills, the soil of which is very poor, barren and chalky, and covered with sharp slints, the fields are in general large; at the western boundaries it is covered with woodland, at the eastern runs the Stone-street way from Canterbury to Hythe and Limne, the Portus Lemanis of the Romans.
