Small bison tube containing log only and a pencil (?) along the
Paducah's Greenway Trail. The best place to park is behind the Smoke
Shop.
The Clyde F. Boyles Greenway Trail currently has three completed
sections with one more phase planned. The trail is open to
non-motorized traffic from dawn to dusk. Once completed, the
Greenway Trail will stretch 5.3 miles linking residential neighborhoods
with the Perkins Creek Nature Preserve, three city parks, and the
riverfront. With the completion of the Greenway Tail Underpass,
pedestrians can
safely move under U.S. Highway 45. Thus completing a continuous 4.5 mile
journey from County Park Road to the Paducah Expo/Convention Center.
The Clyde F. Boyles Greenway Trail is funded in part thanks to income
from an endowment from the Boyles estate. Lanelle Boyles, who
died December 31, 2005, bequeathed a portion of the estate to the City
of Paducah to be used for walking and biking trails in memory of her
husband, Clyde F. Boyles. The endowment is managed by the
Community Foundation of West Kentucky, Inc.
