A conservation trust established in 1993 dedicated the Les and Vi Wyman property to preserving forestland and wildlife habitat. The trust graciously allows public access to experience a well-managed forest, observe wildlife and learn about native flora and fauna.
Park at the northern entry gate near the meadow that was once known as Kootenai Orchards. Follow the road/trail system to discover some interesting features about this property. Be sure to bring a lunch or snack to enjoy along the trail. You will find shelter if the weather becomes inclement.
The trail system is ideal for horses but you may want to scout out parking for your outfit. You can reach the property either by turning off US 95 at the north end of McArthur Lake if you're coming from the south. From the north, turn off at Naples and head up the hill to Highland Flats. Turn south at the Four Corners and proceed past the old Kootenai Orchards.
