Geocache Description:

The cache is at the posted coordinates, and can be signed at any time. But you must first meet the requirements below before you can log a smiley on this challenge.

This is the 13th of a series of challenges place in honor of some of our favorite albums. This is the first one placed in Southern California.  All the others are placed in the Bay Area.  The challenge will be to find caches for each of the tracks on a given album. The rules are as followed:

  • You must find a different cache for each of the tracks of the album.
  • If the song title has multiple words, I will take any words in the title except conjunctions, articles and short prepositions. I may make exceptions to these rules. I will make the words I will accept in BOLD.
  • The words must appear in the cache title and can't be part of another word. (ie: dishrag is not allowed for rag.)
  • You can have found the caches at anytime.
  • Use the challenge checker below to easily see if you qualify.

For my first Southern California cache of this series, I wanted to focus on a Southern California band, Jane's Addiction.  I listen to them a lot my freshman year of college and this is by far my favorite album by them.  The album was ranked #312 on Rolling Stone's "500 Greatest Albums of All-Time." Nothing's Shocking is also included in the book 1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die.

I think all of these can be found currently in the LA area.

  1. "Up the Beach"
  2. "Ocean Size"
  3. "Had a Dad"
  4. "Ted, Just Admit It"
  5. "Standing in the Shower"
  6. "Summertime Rolls" (Will accept Summer or Time for this one.)
  7. "Mountain Song"
  8. "Idiots Rule" (I will also accept Idiot.)
  9. "Jane Says"
  10. "Thank You Boys"
  11. "Pig's in Zen" (I will accept Pig.)

I like challenges and I love music and this seems like a fun way to mix the two. Feel free to place your own cache in the series if you like the idea. (Feel free to use the banner as well.) I would love to see others favorite albums and would like the challenge of completing them.
