The three-arch stone Yair Bridge was constructed around 1764, and designed by the Edinburgh architect William Mylne. It now carries the A707 across the Tweed. The Southern Upland Way descends from Three Brethren and crosses the bridge. The Sir Walter Scott Way follows the same route. Just over the bridge from the cache there is a parking place for access to The Three Brethren and other beautiful walks.
The cache is close to a position that is sometimes used by canoe clubs for slaloms. This makes for interesting viewing but also for an abundance of muggles. It is better searched for on a day that there is no canoeing, when it is usually fairly deserted. It is such a nice area that it is well worth going along even if caching proves to be muggled out.
The cache is somewhere between micro and small and has no pencil/pen so please bring your own.
Congratulations to cloventrout for FTF.
Many thanks to misty morn for his rescue of the cache from the stormy waters!
Since the original site is now in a gated area, it has been moved to the other side of the river.
