Geocache Description:

Saarinen Preserve has a mix of forest types. There are scattered natural stands of longleaf pine and live oak within about 40 acres of mesic hammock -- an upland forest type mostly consisting of hardwoods -- and there are a total of about 38 acres of slash pine plantation in two stands. The planted pines are approximately 17 years old, and some of the live oaks and longleaf pines may be more than a century old.

Too often while out geocaching, I hear "What am I looking for?"  I always reply, "A geocache!"  This series is in honor of that and all sizes will be "not chosen" and will range from nanos in the woods through gallon sized containers.  Most should be relatively easy to find, although a couple may test some cachers a bit.

As with any natural area in Florida, please be aware of your surroundings as there are several species of venomous snakes in this area as well as poisonous plants, ticks, spiders, etc.  The total trails in the preserve are a little under 3 miles.
