Geocache Description:

Wabash Depot Museum


The Wabash Depot was built on the north side of North Street in 1903 and was relocated to the south side of the street in 1975 and was donated to the Moravia Historical Society. There is also a Summer Kitchen and an outhouse located here. Also on display is a section car and a mine car. 

The Fairview United Methodist Chapel constucted in1894 was moved to this location in 1999. 

The town of Moravia is the boyhood home of author James Floyd Stephens (1895 - 1971) . Some stories of Paul Bunyan and Babe the Blue Ox were made famous by Stephens a creator of tall tales. His first book was printed in 1925.

This cache is a medium sized plastic container with a few trade items, a log and pencil.

Permission for this cache was granted by a member of the Moravia Historical Society.
