The posted coordinates are those of the Door County Coastal Byway kiosk located at the oldest family-operated farm market in Door County. You will discover the information you need to find the cache by reading the panels of this kiosk.
Finding the cache:
The cache is located a very short walk from the posted coordinates of the kiosk at
N 45° 08.3AB’ W 087° 07.9CD’, where
A, B and C are the numbers in, “The Liberty Grove German Settlement was founded in 1ABC by Christian Hempel and William Dorn from Pomerania.”
D is one less than the number of letters in the name of a teardrop shaped hill left by a retreating glacier.
When you find the cache, you will discover a code name (attached to the inside of the cover of the cache) of someone who lived nearby and is famous for his woodcarvings of birds. Although not required in order to log the cache, it will be needed to complete the passport for the Ridges/DCCB Nature Tour.
