The BIG SHOP Traditional Cache

The present day Waterfront shopping complex has been transformed from an industrial giant, U.S. Steel.  Of the 3 machine shops in Homestead Works, #1, #2 and #3, The BIG SHOP - Homestead's #1 Machine Shop / Valley Machine Shop, was responsible for all the machining and repairs to all the valley's U.S.S.  steel mills. It contained exceptional machinery and world class machinists. It's the place where I  learned my trade and that trade has served me well for the past 40 years. 

This cache sits on the site of the former "BIG SHOP" of United States Steel's Homestead Works. It performed all the machining repairs / new parts etc. for the Valley's mills and today its fitting that it is a place where you can go to get most things to do most of your home repairs. This cache is a small bottle looking over the area that was once a very busy place. Look high, look low, but we're happy that now you know a bit more of this cache location.
