Geocache Description:

Two years ago, a group of unsuspecting Geocachers gathered at Whispering Winds in Sheffield, PA, for what they believed to be a Camp-O-Rama and 1K Picnic.... Little did they know, that they were in for the surprise of their lives (and what many claim, as an unforgettable event!!) - The wedding of TheYoders2012!!

Come camp for the weekend, or just join us for the afternoon, and celebrate a Third Anniversary, any and all milestones that our and your Caching Friends may have achieved - and perhaps something else!! Remember, things aren't always as they seem when the Kinzua Cachers are around!!

This Event will be held under the pavilion at Whispering Winds Campground, located just off US Route 6, just outside Sheffield, PA, in the heart of the beautiful Allegheny National Forest. The 1K Picnic will be a Pot-Luck Supper from 5pm until 8pm. We will furnish Hotdogs and Hamburgers, and rely on those attending to provide a dish to pass. The Event will include lots of food, a Travel Bug exchange, a Celebration of Caching Milestones, lots of socializing, possibly some chair breaking, and definitely LOTS of laughs!!

Everyone is welcome to come for the picnic, or the entire weekend!! The Kinzua Cachers love to camp and several of us have already committed to moving in for the weekend (Friday and Saturday). - Which means the possibility of a night cache or two, perhaps a few new perm. caches, warm and inviting campfires surrounded with boisterous story-telling cachers, and more laughs then you could imagine!!

There are plenty of caches in the area to occupy your time, not to mention you never know when new caches may become available.... So whether you come for the day, just the picnic or the weekend, you'll stay busy!!

Here's How Honoring a Fellow Cacher Works!! - Whoever wishes to honor another Cacher, nominates that individual, provides the award (such as a milestone item, geo-achievement coin, or special ammo can), and presents it to their nomine during the award portion of the Event. If the award is a golden (or other special ammo can), place a Log Book in it, maybe a few pieces of swag, and we'll display it on the table after it is presented. Then during the Event, everyone else can add swag or signature items and sign their congratulations in the Log Book. At the conclusion of the Event, the ammo can goes home with the nominee as a permanent reminder of their achievement!!

Those interested in camping, should make their Camping Reservations directly through the Campground. The Campground does have a limited number of sites, so we do recommend making reservations early if you want to be on-site at the event. Overflow camping is also available at Chapman State Park, in Clarendon, PA. Also, Whispering Winds does offer free WiFi service inside the Campground, so you will be able to research, download, and log caches on site!!

Also, on Sunday, our Campground Hosts will be offering a pancake and sausage breakfast to all campers for a small fee ($4 per person, $2 for children (under the age of 12)). Reservations must be made with the Campground Hosts by Saturday morning so they are able to prepare enough food.

If you have a Cacher that you would like to honor for a milestone, or another reason, please let us know so we can add their name to the list as we approach the Event. Also, please log in your "Will Attend" the number of Cachers attending, and what you will be bringing to pass at the Pot-Luck.
