Geocache Description:

On this hunt you will pull into a driveway. When you do please park away from the service entrance on the left (marked "Studio Parking"). This is a business and can have a great deal of cars in the lot. Be mindful and courteous when parking. Please limit to daylight hours. Hint for the occasional jumpy gps: This cache is NOT on the porch.

This cache is placed with the owners' permission

In 2002 when Matilda and myself lived in this house a storm came by and took the tree down. The tree broke and buckled. Miraculously the house did not. A slight dent in the gable was all that remained. Some say it was the solid construction of the slaves who built it. Some think the house ghost, Lydia, protects the homestead (though she occasionally harasses the guests). At any rate, the tree was removed and cut up into firewood. Before the week was over Matilda settled into what remained and made it her office. She and I have since moved, but her office remains intact and, apparently, is used by Honey these days.

This cache was to be a multi-multi-multistage initially, named for my dog who waltzes all over. But I have shortened the hunt significantly so that more people can enjoy this place.

NOW HEAR THIS: - you'll likely meet a big friendly dog at her place of residence. This is Honey. This place gets many visitors who meet Honey regularly, so she's used to people. But she barks and, boy, you'll know it - she is a sort of doorbell to the place. . . . once you turn up that driveway, should you have a dog along, be on the safe side - leave your pal in the car until you've determined wether Honey is his/her type. You dog people know how strange the whole canine territory thing can be can be.

As with any dog, exercise good manners. She is very friendly, however if you're skittish around dogs, bring a milk bone or a dog-whispering chum or just head for another cache in the area.
