Geocache Description:

The terrain of Mackinac Island is varied. Once you head away from the shoreline, the elevation increases. Mostly smaller rolling terrain once you're on top. Transportation on the island is limited to walking, bicycling or horses. I have not placed any cache that would require you to scale any steep grade. If you think you need to climb or descend any steep grade, there's a better way to approach from a different road or trail.

Do not look for this cache after Oct 26th.
From Oct 27th through Oct 30th I plan to remove this cache and place a new cache somewhere nearby. If I run out of time or if the weather does not cooperate or if my knee hurts to much to replace this cache, I'll enable it and try again at a later date. On Oct 20th I'm going to disable this cache as another warning that it will soon be archived.

Most caches are close to the trail or road, at most, a dozen or two steps off. There are a number of points of interest to stop and take in the sights. If you use a bicycle, please remember to park your bike off of the trail or road.

This cache is located along M-185 that follows the shoreline. A good friend of mine said to me "I should hide more difficult caches on Mackinac Island". I truly love to hide unique caches but they typically require a work shop and a big hardware store. Neither are available to me on Mackinac Island. I did the best I could with the limited tools I had on hand to create this hide. I hope you will enjoy it. Since I typically have trouble deciding on what to name most of my caches, you now know where this name came from.

I have created a remote web page with general information for geocaching on Mackinac Island. Please visit this link for the latest info.

I read many of the logs that are posted on my caches, but sometimes I can't read all emails. If you find a problem with any of my caches, please post a "Needs Maintenance" log. Logs of that type are filtered into a special inbox that gets 100% read. Thank you.

For all of my caches placed within the Mackinac State Historical Parks managed areas, a permit has been filed and paid for each year.
