Vintage Television Series #28 "The Waltons" Traditional Cache

The Vintage Television series of caches are based on some of our favorite television shows.  Each cache is placed in a location related to the show.  This is not a park and grab but requires a hike; there are several other caches along the way.  Pack a lunch and make a day of it.

The Waltons is a television series that was based on the book Spencer's Mountain by Earl Hamner, Jr.  It is set in a rural mountain community during the depression.  Airing from 1972 to 1981, The Waltons introduced us to John and Olivia Walton (Ralph Waite and Michael Learned) and their children John-Boy (Richard Thomas), Mary Ellen (Judy Norton), Jason (Jon Walmsley), Erin (Mary Elizabeth McDonough), Ben (Eric Scott), JimBob (David W Harper), and Elizabeth (Kami Cotler); the family was rounded out by Grandpa (Will Geer) and Grandma (Ellen Corby).  Grandpa and John had to hide the special recipe purchases made from the Baldwin Sisters as Olivia and Grandma were tee-totalers.
