Geocache Description:

Here's an ammo box at the far west end of Hubbard Park. It's off a trail head that's often used by people who just want to hike on the trails, but not necessarily visit the main part of the park.

I thought this cache could be visited by three distinct groups of people:

  1. It's a park-and-grab for those travelling along West Main Street in Meriden.
  2. If you're a more serious hiker who plans to venture deep into Hubbard Park, here's an easy and fun way to start your journey! Better yet, keep this cache until you're done with your hike and use it to end your adventure on a high note!
  3. If you're in the developed part of Hubbard Park by Mirror Lake, you can take an easy stroll along the orange trail to this cache. When your reach the entrance to the Interstate 691 pedestrian overpass, bear left to get to the trail head.

Be sure to visit the Meriden Land Trust's web site to get a full color topo map of the extensive trail system in the park!
