The Dove Tower Traditional Cache

The Dove Tower and Steps to the Bottom of a Pyramid occupies the field in front of the Information Technology and Engineering Building at the University of Connecticut, and it is meant to counter-point the antiseptic world of computers with a world of material (stones). The image is divided between an upside-down step pyramid that takes us ten feet below ground level, into a meditative space in which the external world almost vanishes, and the tense upside-down dove tower. The dove tower deals on one hand with an early form of communication (doves), and on the other hand with the contemporary anxieties and references of fallen towers.
