Lake Akan is the fifth biggest lake in Hokkaido. Marimo (spherical moss) of Lake Akan is very famous and it is designated as a protected species. As whole surface of the lake freeze over in winter, you can enjoy fishing lake smelts, skating, and snowmobiling there. The cache is located at the footpath along the shoreline.
It snows much in winter. So, it is easier to find the cache in spring, summer, and fall. Of course, it will be fun to try it by snowshoe or buck country ski. The difficulty will be five stars, if you try in winter. Please bring your pen.
阿寒湖は北海道内では五番目に大きな淡水湖です。有名なのはマリモでしょうか。冬は全面結氷するのでワカサギ釣り、スケート、スノーモービルなどのウィンタースポーツが盛んです。キャッシュは阿寒湖の湖岸沿いの散策路に設置しました。冬はこの辺りも雪に埋もれてしまいます。春から秋にかけてアプローチ可能なキャッシュです。もちろんスノーシューでチャレンジするのも面白いでしょうが、難易度は5スターになりますね。筆記具を持参ください。
