[MEGA2015.lu] I Kapellenhündchen bei Düdelingen Mystery Cache

This series tells you a few stories about incredible or strange events in and around Dudelange. The sagas and legends are originally published in German. We try to show you the places where these stories could have taken place. The areas changed, but the stories are still remaining.

Due to some distance problems with other caches in the surroundings it wasn’t possible to place some caches at the place where the stories took place. So don’t be too disappointed.

You'll find the story in the listing, but to find the cache, you first have to solve the riddle and sometimes, you have to read the story to understand how to crack the riddle.

The checker tells you more about the Code for the Bonus-Caches. Solve the riddles from A to M for Bonus 1 and the riddles from N to Z for Bonus 2. Then do the nice Multi Cache GC5P7RM to find the formulas for both Bonus.

Dort, wo östlich vom Johannisberg mitten in den Feldern der Weg von Kail mit der von Düdelingen nach Budersberg führenden Straße einen Dreiweg bildet, steht eine kleine Kapelle der Trösterin der Betrübten. Sonst war dort nur ein Marienbild in einer hohlen Linde. Diesen Weg daher kam einst Ritter Kunnert geritten und weil er müde war, schlief er auf dem Pferde ein. Auf einmal stutzt das Pferd und will nicht voran. Kunnert erwacht und erblickt allerlei Teufelsspuk um sich her. Er gelobt, der Mutter Gottes ein Kirchlein zu erbauen, und wird aus der Gefahr befreit.

Là où à l’est du mont Saint Jean au plein milieu des champs, le chemin de Kayl avec la route qui mène de Dudelange vers Budersberg forment un triangle, se trouve une petite chapelle Notre Dame des Affligés. Avant il y avait seulement une représentation de la vierge Marie dans un tilleul creux. C’est en galopant par ce chemin qu’un jour le chevalier Kunnert arriva, et comme il était fatigué, il s’endormi sur son cheval. Brusquement le cheval s’arrêta net et ne voulut plus avancer. Kunnert se réveilla et aperçu tout autour de drôles apparitions du diable. Il promit à la vierge Marie de lui construire une petite église et ainsi fut libéré du danger.

Eastern of mount St John in the middle of the fields, where the street leading from Kayl to Dudelange meets in a triangle the street to Budersberg, stands a small chapel dedicated to the Comforter of the Afflicted. Formally there was only a picture of the Virgin Mary in a hollow lime tree. A knight named Kunnert came along this street, since he was tired he fell asleep on his horse. Suddenly the horse stumbled and refused to walk further on. Kunnert awoke and saw a lot of devils spook around him. He vowed to build a chapel for Mother of God and was released from the danger.
