Geocache Description:

Cache:

A quick find on the Loyalist Loop. I always thought this was area was called Quinte Conservation. Turns out it's name is Potter's Creek.

Location:

Trail: Loyalist Loop ~ 1.7 km

The home base for Quinte Conservation, this area offers an abundance of recreational opportunities. Trails wind through this former farm, past fragrant orchards, open meadows and scenic woodlands. See some demonstration created wetlands on the Demonstration Wetland Trail. Hikers, bikers and cross country skiers will find the trails to be inspiring and diversified. The park area at the mouth of Potter’s Creek overlooking the Bay of Quinte provides a great starting point for canoeists, kayakers and windsurfers. It also features an accessible trail

A Little History This site was originally settled by Stephen B. Blanchard around 1815. Ernie H. Potter owned and operated a farm with a small orchard from 1910 to 1973. It was purchased for a Conservation Area in 1973.
