Geocache Description:

Come out to Bayland Park, just along Tabbs Bay and across from Hog Island, to meet and greet some of your local cachers. Seasoned veterans, novice explorers, and those looking to learn about the hobby are all welcome to attend. And bring a paddle craft if you're interested in visiting Hog Island!

Sunday, May 31
Meet and Greet - 10:00 a.m.
Paddle Launch - 10:30 a.m.

The Baytown community is home to an active group of cachers who have contributed greatly to the game. Come meet some of those individuals, plus others who attend the event from neighboring communities. The event begins at 10:00 a.m. Please bring your own refreshments, if you choose. And sharing is always welcome. This will also be an opportunity to discover and exchange trackables.

The park is known for fishing and boating. Slips make for a convenient way to launch kayaks and canoes, for those who are interested in paddling over to Hog Island afterward. It has a very interesting history.

The event host and his lovely wife will be bringing our kayaks and welcome fellow paddlers to join us after the meet and greet portion. A chance to paddle to the island with the backdrop of the Fred Hartman Bridge should make for a lovely day.
