Loughanure village is situated on the N56, five miles east of Dungloe and five miles west of Gweedore, and is part of the Parish of Annagry. It has a population of 400. It is a Gaeltacht (Irish speaking area) and has an Irish College, Coláiste Mhuire, founded in 1945, which caters for almost a thousand students each year in Irish language classes at Easter, June, July and August. www.loughanure.com
